Wet socks, dripping pants, water running down the back of your neck inside your shirt, shoes making a weird "squishing" sound when you walk, slippery grips, illegible scorecards, embedded balls, short drives…

Yes, Spring has arrived.

While I refuse to play golf in the rain, except if its one of the few tournaments I participate in each year, I can fully understand why courses remain full on weekends, even when it's miserable out there.

I used to tell golf students not to panic if what I’m teaching them now doesn’t make perfect sense because they’ll have a better understanding of it in the morning after a good night’s sleep. Well, according to a new scientific study published in "Science"magazine, what I was saying is correct.

Having arthritis in my feet, I am constantly in pain to some degree or another, especially on golf courses with lots of hills. I view 18-holes from the back tees at Chi Linh Star in the same way a starving dog looks at peanut butter.

It's too tempting to ignore, but I know I'll regret it later.

Heard the one about US Vice President Dick Cheney coming into the clubhouse after a round of golf and a friend asks, "What did you shoot today?" Cheney replies "my caddie". Bada boom.

Like a lot of you, I've been watching the Turin Olympics on TV and enjoyed some excellent performances, as well as some spectacular crashes. Lets be honest here for a moment, most people watch NASCAR racing for the same reason as they watch downhill skiing…where else can you experience a spectacular crash and not be involved in the damn thing?

I decided to check out Tam Dao GC to see if any of the six balls I lost last time were somehow recovered, also to see if my new swing changes worked and to say hello to Dayne Bulloch who I haven’t seen since he was at Song Be.

I am happy to report that I’m hitting the ball longer and straighter than ever, but I still putt like Helen Keller.
