Most charity tournaments in the USA average a collection of US$5,000 - $10,000. With that in mind, I overheard some International Red Cross managers mentioning how difficult it is to find charity donations at the Press Club in Ha Noi last month.

The 7th humanitarian golf tournament "Swing For Life" held at the Thu Duc golf-course in HCM City on September 2, has raised almost US$68,000 for the city's Association in Support of Poor Patients.

Unless you've been living in a cave, its impossible to miss the amount of Wie bashing going on in Internet sites. Apparently, the last episode where teen sensation Michelle Wie sacked her caddie after getting slapped with a two-stroke penalty for violating 13-4c at the British Women's Open was a bit too much to take.

Pack pack, stuff stuff – it’s that time again. Once again I gird my loins, stuff my suitcases and harden my ego against the usual beating it takes from Bob Van Mol as I head on down to HCM City for tournament season. OK, I know, two weeks isn't a season, but when you're too busy working in golf to actually play a lot of golf, you take what you can get.

The organizers of the Swing for Life charity golf tournament in Ho Chi Minh City on National Day, September 2, are confident of raising at least US$60,000 to upgrade a clinic in a poor ward in District 9.

Every time I find solace in the excuse of getting older, someone has to come along and screw it up. This time it was Corey Pavin winning again on the PGA Tour for the first time in 10 years at the ripe old age of 46.
